Almost 900 jobs to be axed at three airports as furlough ends

As the furlough scheme is coming to an end almost 900 jobs are set to be lost at Manchester, Stanstead and East Midlands airports.

Manchester Airports Group as there has been very little progress in introducing testing at airports for passengers, along with the quarantine period and a 90% drop in demand for travel, there is very little prospect for a revival.

Manchester Airport will cut 465 jobs, Stanstead 376 and East Midlands will lose 51 jobs.
