Money expert slammed the government today for sleepwalking into an energy crisis and said “what a load of bull” that the “zombie” Tories do not know how they can specify what they will do to help millions of struggling families.

Martin Lewis warned the government that a “national crisis on the scale of the pandemic” could be just around the corner and said that the UK could be on the verge of civil unrest.

Government Minister’s have said that until a new Prime Minister has been appointed they cannot specify how they can help Brits leaving millions in limbo until 5 September.

In an interview with Good Morning Britain Lewis warned, “Thankfully we don’t have volcanos in this country, but if we did and it erupted, I would be surprised if the government said they couldn’t call a Cobra meeting.

“A volcano erupting is an emergency that risks lives, this is a financial emergency that risks lives.”

Lewis added, “What a load of bull! That is complete bull.

“I won’t use the final word on the back of it. That is simply not true.”

He told GMB that it is “looking more and more likely” that civil unrest could be around the corner as a result of the “cataclysmic rise” in energy bills that Brits simply cannot afford to pay.
