Vladimir Putin is becoming more and more isolated and has ordered the arrest of two senior Russian spies on Saturday.

The intelligence officers in the Russian security service, the FSB formerly known as the KGB, have been placed under house arrest by Putin, unconfirmed reports suggested.

Andrei Soldatov, of the investigative website Agentura, reported that Sergei Beseda, the head of the Fifth Service, the FSB’s foreign intelligence branch along with his deputy were both been detained.

Western officials said, “Both men have played a major role in intelligence operations against Ukraine for several years and highly likely played a major role in the planning for the invasion.

The Kremlin’s spies in the FSB have blew the whistle on Putin last week and they warned “there are no options for a possible victory, only defeat.”

The whistleblower has warned that “Vlad the invader” is facing “total failure” and “Russia has no way out.”

FSB intelligence officers were ordered by the Kremlin to assess the impact of sanctions on Russia from the West.

The FSB officers wrote, “You have to write the analysis in a way that makes Russia the victor… otherwise you get questioned for not doing good work.

“Suddenly it happens and everything comes down to your completely groundless analysis.

“[We are] acting intuitively, on emotion… our stakes will have to be raised ever higher with the hope that suddenly something might come through for us.

“By and large, though, Russia has no way out. There are no options for a possible victory, only defeat.”
