The head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Force has said that war has now “expanded” to Lebanon and that they are “prepared.”
Amir Ali Hajizadeh has warned that there is now scope for the wider Middle East to become embroiled in conflict.
The Iranian backed Lebanese militia group Hezbollah are conducting regular strikes on Israel as tensions continue to grow.
Ali Hajizadeh warned, “Today, we can see that the war has expanded, with Lebanon being embroiled in it,” the semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted.
He added, “It is probable that the extent of clashes will grow even bigger. The future is unclear, though Iran is prepared for all conditions.”
The Iranian commander was asked over the US and their threat to Tehran, he said, “The US is not threatening Iran… Iran is not in a position where anybody would seek to threaten it, as we are currently at the peak of our military strength.”
