Thinking of starting up, or just started a business? Looking to get hands-on advice and face-to-face insights from entrepreneurs who have been there and done it?

We’re hosting an exclusive roundtable on Thursday 8 May, and we’re offering up to 10 free places for guests to join experts and entrepreneurs around a table of no more than 15.

This is your chance to ask Duncan Cheatle, co-founder of StartUp Britain and founder of entrepreneurs’ group the Supper Club, for his advice on starting up in the UK.

You’ll also get face-to-face insights on social media, marketing and the day-to-day running of a start-up from Mike Ruffles, who heads up social media at Virgin StartUp and is the former editor of Smarta.com, the advice website for small business.

This is an amazing opportunity to discuss the ins and outs of starting and growing a business in a truly intimate setting, where all questions are welcome and where you can learn from and network with valuable peers.

Interested? Email [email protected] with “Start-up roundtable” in the subject line, and one sentence explaining why you deserve to be there.

You’ll be part a conversation that covers:

  • Business planning that actually works: how to make forecasts, budget and plan
  • Getting your name out there: marketing, social media, networking and PR
  • Becoming a business owner: what you need to learn, who can help and where to find advice
  • Dealing with the downsides: loneliness, long hours and when things don’t go to plan

Venue: Park Plaza Hotel, 239 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 1EQ

Date and timings: Thursday 8 May, 8:30am – 11am

Roundtable chair: Sophie Hobson, editor of LondonlovesBusiness.com

Format: 8:30am-9:15am: networking and complementary breakfast; 9:15am-10:30am: roundtable discussion; 10:30am-11am: further networking and close.
