The head of Royal Mail’s UK Post and Parcels division, Sue Whalley, is stepping down with immediate effect, and group chief executive Rico Back will be take over her responsibilities.
Whalley said that after helping to push through organisational changes at Royal Mail, “now is the time to move on”.
“The Board have agreed that she will leave Royal Mail,” the company said in a statement today, adding: “Sue will work alongside Stuart Simpson on our Christmas operational programme and assist the Company with ongoing regulatory, legal and other matters, as appropriate.”
There’s been a bit of upheaval at Royal Mail recently, including a profit warning in October. Royal Mail also announced that it has appointed the head of its audit and risk committee Keith Williams as deputy chairman with immediate effect.
