Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to receive his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine today.
It comes as a host of European countries, including Germany and France, announced they would return to using the jab following fresh safety assurances.
The vaccine was temporarily paused because of concerns over blood clots but the European Medicines Agency called the vaccine “safe and effective”.
Jean Castex, the French prime minister, said he would get the vaccine on Friday, while Slovenia’s prime minister will do so on camera.
On Thursday, European Medicines Agency executive director Emer Cooke said she would “be vaccinated tomorrow” given the chance.
