The German government have introduced strict travel restrictions on anyone who travels from the UK to try and curb the Omicron variant.
Germany has classified the UK as ‘an area of concern’ and from midnight on Sunday airlines will be banned from flying Brits to the country.
Only German citizens and residents will be allowed to enter the country from the UK. They will need to quarantine for 14 days regardless of their vaccine status and must provide a negative PCR test.
On Saturday the Robert-Koch Institut said that the UK has the highest Covid risk level and the travel ban will remain in place until 3 January 2022.
