On Monday another 99 cases have been confirmed on the stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship bringing the total on board to 454 two days before the 14 day quarantine is to end.

The cruise ship has the largest cluster of people infected with coronavirus outside mainland China.

Hundreds of passengers are due to leave the infected cruise ship on Wednesday but there are now doubts they may stay longer.

The cruise ship was quarantined by the Japanese authorities last month with 3,711 people on board. A total of 1,723 of those passengers have been tested with 454 confirmed to be positive for the virus.
