What’s going on?
Supermarket giant Tesco has angered customers by increasing how much it charges to pump up car tyres at its petrol stations by 150 per cent.
The minimum price to use the pumps has soared from 20p to 50p, it has been revealed.
A spokesman said: “The price of air has not increased at all. Previously it was 20p for two minutes, now it is 50p for five minutes.
“The price has remained the same at 10p per minute.
“We found that the majority of customers could not check and put in all their tyres in the time provided, so we have now given our customers longer to use the machine.”
