Warm weekend temperatures could see a record February


This weekend is set to see close to record temperatures for February, according to the Met Office.

High pressure is coming over from Europe and is predicted to move across the UK, bringing hot sunny weather.

Richard miles, Met Office spokesman has said temperatures are set to soar “up to 17c are possible” in parts of the UK.

The current record was set in February 1998, where temperatures reached 19.7c in the UK, Miles said.

Miles said: “Everywhere is going to be having a mild weekend, although you might get some light frost in the South East where the skies are clear.”

Western areas of the UK could experience patches of light rain.”
