For an island nation with a population of less than 70 million, we sure do pack in a lot of billionaires.
There are now 77 dollar-billionaires resident in the UK, ranking us fourth in countries with the most billionaires in the world, according to a new list from Chinese publisher Hurun.
That total of 77 is an increase of 22 from last year, and 49 of them live in London.
The US tops the list with 481 billionaires, followed by China with 358, then Russia, then the UK. India comes just behind us.
Leonard Blavatnik is the richest person in the UK, followed by Lakshmi Mittal.
The total number of billionaires in the world now stands at 1,867, up some 414 on last year.
Just under 950 of those saw their wealth increase over the past year.
Bill Gates is the richest person on the planet, according to Hurun’s list.
