The UK has recorded a further 4,368 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours up from 3,899 on Sunday with 11 deaths.
Brits have been warned on Monday that the country is in the “last chance saloon” to avoid a second coronavirus lockdown.
Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty warned, “The trend in the UK is heading in the wrong direction and we are at a critical point in the pandemic.
“We are looking at the data to see how to manage the spread of the virus ahead of a very challenging winter period.”
