Global war concerns have resurfaced after Donald Trump threatened to pull out of World Trade Organisation unless it starts to ‘treat the US better’
In an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, Trump said the US would withdraw from the global institution if “they don’t shape up.” Bloomberg has also reported that the Trump administration is on standby to impose more tariffs on $200bn worth of goods from Beijing as soon as next week.
Trump has complained the US is treated unfairly in global trade and has blamed the WTO for allowing that to happen. He has also warned he could take action against the global body, although he has not specified what form that could take.
