Theresa May party faces a disaster in the polls

The prime minister has suffered a big blow as she has lost hundreds of council seats due to her handling over Brexit.

Voters started polling from early this morning across 248 town halls across the UK with 11 in Northern Ireland.

Overnight the results will start to pour in, and predictions say the government is looking likely to lose anything from 500 to 1,000 seats.

Labour are likely to take over many Tory areas, and the Liberal Democrats look set to take 500 seats from May’s party.

Nigel Farage is smiling as the latest polls for the EU elections show’s his Brexit party is in front.

A YouGov poll says that Farage is polling on 30% an increase of 2% compared to the previous poll.

Labour is in second place at 21%, and the Tory party are facing electoral disaster as they are trailing third at 13%, the Liberal Democrats are catching up at 10%.
