Just days after announcing a ‘global purchasing alliance’, supermarket giants Carrefour and Tesco have now said that they expect their tie-up to become operational from October.
The partnership between French company Carrefour and UK’s Tesco will be governed by a three-year operational framework initially.
With combined annual sales of $170bn, the alliance is designed to cut costs as they step up their assault on Germany’s discount grocers Aldi and Lidl.
