Stocks in Asia have lost ground again today as concerns grow over the deadly coronavirus outbreak in China.
Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 closed 1.7% lower, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng ended the day down by 2.65%.
The Shanghai Composite in China remains closed until Monday.
The FTSE 100 followed Asia stock markets lower on Thursday, with the blue chip index falling 0.78% to 7,425.43 in early trading.
The death toll from the coronavirus is rising andย it has now spread to every Chinese region.
The FTSE 250 opened 0.46% lower at 21,369.21.
In France, the CAC-40 dropped 1.33% to 5,875.91 while in Germany, the DAX declined 1.34% to 13,166.42.
