The retailer’s CEO Dave Forsey gives up as £4m bonus
Sports Direct billionaire Mike Ashley is set to admit for the first time in front of MPs today that working conditions at the retailert’s Derbyshire warehouse weren’t satisfactory.
Ashley, who’s vehemently denied reports of Sports Direct not providing good working conditions, wrote a letter to 27,000 staff members saying there were security issues at the warehouse.
The news comes as the retailer’s CEO Dave Forsey gave up his four-year share bonus worth up to £4m as the retailer’s shares fell 45% over the last year.
According to The Telegraph, Ashley admits in the letter that the past year has been “challenging”.
He wrote: “This has been a difficult year for the company.”
Ashley is set to appear in front of MPs at Portcullis House today.
