Spain warns citizens they should be ‘very careful’ over coronavirus

Coronavirus cases in Spain has been linked to Italy, Fernando Simon, the Spanish health coordinator warned Spanish citizens they should be “very careful with the northern Italy region.”

The ministry of health coordinator said Spain are bracing themselves for a soaring rise of coronavirus after a hotel in Tenerife has been hit with the virus.

He said, “We have to be very careful with the link to cases of the virus in Spain with northern Italy.”

The first case hit Catalonia and has since spread throughout the country including the Canary Islands.

The popular UK holiday hotspot, H10 Costa Adeje Palace in Tenerife which, can hold up to 1,000 guests had an outbreak of coronavirus after an Italian Dr came down with the virus.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued a travel advisory for those with spending plans to visit Spain.

On Tuesday Spanish health officials announced their first death from coronavirus in Valencia. Spain has 165 cases of coronavirus and is the 8th highest country in the world with the virus. Italy has 2,036 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 52 deaths to date.
