A Russian MP has claimed the West has no legitimate interests in Ukraine unlike Russia and must stop waging war at the hands of Ukrainians.
Russian MP Sergey Mironov said the new NATO Secretary General has made it clear what the West wants from the conflict in Ukraine.
Let me quote: ‘To keep Ukrainians in the fight, preventing the Russians from getting what they want.’ Yes, Rutte did not rule out negotiations, mentioning that Ukraine should have a stronger position for this than it does now.
It turns out that while the position is weak, that is, while the Russian army is advancing, there should be no negotiations. This is a war to the last Ukrainian, to which Western elites have been inclining Kiev for the third year.
Mironov said, “I have great doubts that people in Europe and North America understand what their elites really want and what Russia wants—they are not told about this, as well as about the history of the conflict.
“Let me remind you of the facts. In 2014, real neo-Nazis came to power in Ukraine with the support of the West as a result of a coup d’état. This was opposed by a huge part of the Russian-speaking population of Donbass, against whom Kiev started a war.

“At the same time, it set a course for the country’s accession to NATO, a military alliance that directly threatens Russia‘s security. Therefore, Russia, after its peaceful initiatives were ignored, was forced to launch a special military operation to protect the Russian-speaking population and its security.
“The lands on which this population lives and which are being liberated by the Russian army today have historically been part of Russia for hundreds of years.
“The choice of these people, as previously the choice of people in Crimea to return to their historical homeland, should not surprise anyone—we are one nation and want to be united. And we do not want a quasi-state hostile to Russia to exist on our borders, which the West will use as an anti-Russian springboard.
“The neo-Nazi regime must be eliminated. These are the legitimate national interests of Russia, for which it is fighting.
“And what is the West fighting for? For ‘democracy’ in Ukraine in the person of dictator Zelensky and his Nazis? In order to contain the ‘aggressive Russia‘? But who was attacking?
“All, NATO has been steadily expanding eastward for almost 30 years, threatening Russia, and today it is shelling the territory of the Russian Federation. Is the West fighting for the prosperity of its peoples—at the cost of seizing the resources of Ukraine and Russia? Are these legitimate interests? No. And our fight is just. That’s why we are going to fight it till our victory.”
