Russia attacked Ukraine with a “new type” of missile on Thursday morning which has the “characteristics” of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICMB).
Ukrainian authorities have said an “examination” is ongoing to determine the type of this new ballistic missile that Russia launched.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that “our crazy neighbour” has once again showed his true colours.
During a video address on Thursday President Zelensky said, “Today, our crazy neighbour once again showed what he really is and how he despises dignity, freedom, and the lives of people in general.
“And how afraid he is. So afraid that he uses new missiles. And he is looking around the world for where else to find weapons. Sometimes in Iran, sometimes in North Korea. Today there was a new Russian missile.

“All the characteristics: speed, altitude – intercontinental ballistic. The examinations are still underway.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that Vladimir Putin is escalating the war and that Russia is not seeking peace.
“We are awaiting the experts’ conclusions to determine the exact type of new missile Russia launched at Ukraine this morning, which displayed all the flight-technical characteristics of an intercontinental ballistic missile,” the spokesperson stated.
The British Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer’s spokesman said this is “deeply concerning” and the government will “strengthen our resolve.”
Sir Keir Starmer’s spokesman said: “As you will understand it is a rapidly developing situation and I don’t want to get ahead of our intelligence services who are looking at these reports urgently, but if true, clearly this would be another example of grave, reckless and escalatory behaviour from Russia and only serves to strengthen our resolve.”
The EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova wrote on X, “I was just in Dnipro on Monday. Heartbreaking to see Russia again targeted civilian infrastructure there and in Kryvy Rih.
“Dnipro witnessed 1st use of ICBM + Kinzhals and cruise missiles! Fallen debris hit rehabilitation center for disabled.”
