Nigel Farage flying to the US again?

Nigel Farage is planning a meeting next month with the aides of President-elect, Donald Trump. This news comes after claims that Farage maybe moving to the US.

Farage will be taking a visit to Washington D.C as part of an unofficial diplomatic offensive to forge links with Trumps team. This will undermine Prime Minister, Theresa May who is yet to meet with the new President-elect.

The news comes after friends told the Times that Farage said he is looking to emigrate to America with his wife.

Farage will meet with “the transition team” who are organising Trumps move to the Whitehouse in January.

The UKIP leader, was the first UK Politician to visit the US President-elect after his victory against Hillary Clinton. He also helped Trump in his campaign, speaking at a rally in Mississippi.

Iain Duncan Smith, the former Cabinet minister, told the Telegraph on his opinion of Farage if he were to ever become US Ambassador:

“I think the main reason why you wouldn’t necessarily use Nigel Farage is that Nigel Farage has become himself, rather than a nation – in other words you want somebody over in Washington who represents seamlessly the interests of your nation and doesn’t themselves become the story.”
