Global Procurement Group CEO is a finalist in Great British Entrepreneur Awards

Global Procurement Group CEO and founder Fokhrul Islam, is a finalist in the Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year category in the Great British Entrepreneur awards 2020.

Mr Islam set up the global energy specialist to unite and consolidate a wealth of energy experience and expertise that spans Europe, US and Asia.

Global Procurement Group combines expertise built over almost a decade and includes UK energy procurement specialist Northern Gas and Power and its sister operations in US and France. Mr Islam has also developed an energy technology hub in Malta, where ground-breaking energy management systems are being developed. These ClearVUE Systems help businesses proactively manage their energy requirements in real-time, cutting consumption, costs and carbon.

The prestigious award builds on other recent finalist positions for Global Procurement Group, including The LDC Growth through Innovation Award and The Lloyds Bank Mid-Market Business of the Year Award. While Mr Islam was named the North’s Rising Star in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards last year.

Global Procurement Group has offices in Gateshead, Newcastle, Leeds, the US, France, Malta and India and built trusted industry partnerships globally, since founded by Mr Islam.

Over the last four years to 2019/20, the global energy innovator has quadrupled turnover to more than £43m. It estimates that by the end of 2020 its headcount will be in the region of 700 and it is due to move to a new Grade A office HQ complex later this year.
