Nigel Farage’s latest political move has sparked an unexpected twist, with satirical candidate Count Binface attracting a surge of betting interest ahead of the Clacton by-election.

Following Farage’s announcement, bookmakers opened markets on the contest, with Count Binface priced at 9/2 and accounting for 37 per cent of all bets placed today.

The unusual surge in support has turned the fictional space-themed candidate into one of the most talked-about names in the early stages of the by-election race.

Farage’s decision to enter the contest has placed Clacton firmly in the political spotlight, with bookmakers and voters watching closely to see which candidates emerge as the main challengers.

Count Binface, known for his humorous campaigns and appearances in previous elections, has built a following by combining political satire with unconventional policies and a distinctive public persona.

The betting market remains highly fluid, with odds expected to shift as more candidates declare their intentions and campaigning begins.

The Clacton by-election is set to become one of the most closely watched contests, with Farage’s involvement already creating headlines and attracting attention well beyond the constituency.
