Labour storms back as punters back party to win most seats at next election

Labour has surged back into favour with election punters as speculation grows over the arrival of Andy Burnham and a new era for the party.

The centre-left party has taken the lead in the most seats betting market, becoming the new favourite to win the most seats at the next general election.

Labour is currently priced at 6/4, having overtaken Reform after a shift in betting sentiment during June.

Punters have piled behind the party this week, with 44 per cent of bets backing Labour to emerge with the most seats when voters next head to the polls.

The move comes amid expectations that Burnham’s influence could reshape the party’s direction, with supporters hoping his centre-left approach can broaden Labour’s appeal.

The latest betting movement suggests the political landscape remains highly competitive, with Reform having previously enjoyed a strong run in the markets before Labour regained the advantage.

With public opinion still volatile, the next election battle is expected to be fought over leadership, the economy and whether parties can convince voters they have the answers to Britain’s biggest challenges.
