Brexit Minister Dominic Raab has confirmed that 25 technical papers will be published later today, which will include advice on nuclear safeguards and state aid rules, and has also said he was confident a good deal with the EU remained in sight.
Raab told the BBC: “I’m still confident a good deal is within our sights. We have got agreement on about 80% of the issues. We have made clear that if negotiations don’t achieve the optimum outcome we will continue to be a responsible European neighbour and partner.”
With less than eight months to go until the March 29 exit day, Britain has yet to reach a divorce agreement with the bloc. Negotiations resumed on Tuesday but diplomats in Brussels expect an informal deadline of October to be missed.
