Boris Johnson’s odds to resign as Prime Minister by the end of the month have drifted from 3/1 to 6/1 overnight on the Betfair Exchange Barometer, going from a 20% chance to 14%.

The Prime Minister is currently 4/1 to face a vote of no confidence this month and those odds on the Betfair Exchange Barometer could tumble if Sue Gray’s report is damning to his position.

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak remains the strong favourite at 15/8 to replace Johnson as the next Conservative leader, while Liz Truss is 13/2 and Jeremy Hunt is 8/1.

Betfair Exchange spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “Boris Johnson’s odds to resign this month have drifted from 3/1 to 6/1 on the Betfair Exchange Barometer overnight, which sees the chance of an immediate exit drop from 20% to 14%.

“So it seems as though the Prime Minister could get a brief stay of execution. However, that could all change in a heartbeat if Sue Gray’s report is as damning to his position as the British public expect.

“On the Betfair Exchange Barometer, Johnson is 4/1 to face a vote of no confidence before the end of the month as Rishi Sunak is being backed by punters to be the next Conservative leader at 15/8, with Liz Truss the second favourite at 13/2.”
