The Prime Minister was reportedly “broken” as he met with Minister’s on Tuesday evening to try to prevent a vote of no confidence.

Sky News reported that lawmakers met with Boris Johnson inside Downing Street as there are plans to submit letters of no confidence in the PM to Sir Graham Brady, the chair of the influential 1922 Committee.

The Daily Telegraph cited one of the lawmakers who attended the meeting that Johnson is “broken” and was “close to tears.”

Sean Worth, who is a former Downing Street adviser said the handling of the series of Downing Street parties was “pretty terrible.”

Worth said that further anger will be sparked as the Prime Minister said that “nobody told me” that jamboree in Downing Street had broken the rules.

Johnson said on Tuesday that “nobody told me that what we were doing was against the rules, that the event in question was something that wasn’t a work event, and as I said in the House of Commons when I went out into that garden, I thought that I was attending a work event.”

The former Downing Street advisor said, “I think the whole thing is just really ill judged.

“At the moment the Prime Minister is suffering a death by a thousand cuts because he’s got an investigation that won’t conclude for another few weeks… and every day we’re getting more and more pressure on him.”
