The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has delivered his New Year’s message to voters on Sunday saying that Britain “rests in your hands.”
Sir Keir said in his message on New Year’s Eve that he wishes the British public a happy New Year ahead of Labour’s contributions for 2024.
The Labour leader said that 2023 has been a “tough year” both for the economy and the current ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Russia’s war in Ukraine, Sir Keir then pledged to a future of “hope” and “change.”
The Labour leader added, “It has also been another tough year economically for millions of people. And, beyond our shores, a time of great insecurity with war still raging in Ukraine, and enormous suffering in Israel and Gaza.”
He then promised that Labour will do “everything we can in 2024 to push for a political solution,” he then mentioned that two state solution could be the way forward.
Sir Keir said, “The power to shape the future of our country will rest in your hands.”
He told voters that Labour intend to finally sort the cost of living crisis which has plagued millions of households for far too long.
He said that under a Labour government the NHS will get back on its feet, adding, “I’m ready to renew our politics so it once again serves our country.”
Sir Keir added, “I know that politics isn’t held in particularly high regard in Britain.
“But I have spent four years bringing the Labour Party back to service. And in 2024 we can do the same for politics.
“Let’s make sure this is the year where together we get Britain’s future back.”
