The government have announced on Wednesday that mass coronavirus vaccination sites are to open next week.
The Prime Minister’s spokesperson said that pop-up sites will be in Excel Centre in London, Robertson House in Stevenage, Epsom Racecourse, Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, Millennium Point in Birmingham, Etihad Tennis Centre in Manchester and the Centre for Life in Newcastle
He said that the centres are expected to be run with a combination of NHS staff and volunteers.
Boris Johnson told MPs that 1,3000,000 people have now had their first does of the vaccination.
Covid Vaccine Deployment Minister Nadhim Zahawi told Sky News on Wednesday morning, “I’m confident that as we begin to deploy and get more sites operational, I talked about the hospitals, the GPs, the community pharmacies and the national vaccination centres, so we will be at over 1,000 sites vaccinating.
“I’m confident you will see, certainly from January 4 to January 11, a real step up. So we’ve done over 1.3m since 8 December, you’re going to see a massive acceleration of that”
