Did you hear about Ken Livingstone storming out of an interview with the Croydon Advertiser? It’s because the Labour mayoral candidate couldn’t answer simple questions about the area.
When asked the name of Crystal Palace’s ground, a livid Livingstone said, “I’m sorry, if I want to do a quiz I’ll go on Radio 4. I mean seriously, this is trivial nonsense.
“I think people in Croydon want to know, can I create jobs? Bring transport, infrastructure? I’m not going to do a crossword for you either. I’m not doing it for you or anybody else. I think it’s trivial. It’s everything that is wrong with the British media. What do you want me to do next, kiss a model?”
We’ve all heard Livingstone’s claims of deploying more police officers in London, but Livingstone gave no answers to questions about the number of policemen Croydon needed.
Separately, Savanta ComRes: A return for Boris Johnson is the most popular option among 2019 Conservative voters has found that only only eight per cent of London professionals trust Livingstone with London’s business interests. On the other hand, 71 per cent of London professionals trust Boris Johnson most with businesses’ interests.
