Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine has been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the EU.
This is now the fourth vaccine to be approved for use in the EU, behind Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna.
On Wednesday US regulators approved the single shot vaccine and the British government have ordered 30m doses of the jab.
EMA’s executive director Emer Cooke said, “With this latest positive opinion, authorities across the European Union will have another option to combat the pandemic and protect the lives and health of their citizens.”
