The Primark owner Associated British Foods has reported strong sales following the reopening of its shops in England, France and Ireland in recent weeks.
Updating shareholders before its annual general meeting later today ABF reports that 93 per cent of its selling space is now open, with only 34 Primark shops still closed.
Despite reporting that Primark had lost £430 million in sales in the latest lockdown, ABF said it “continued to expect Primark sales and profit to be higher this financial year compared to last”.
The company added that it would continue to expand retail selling space.
