A Heathrow motorway has been stopped by Black Lives Matter protesters as part of a protest action against racism.
This has led to long traffic jams as people have started lying down on the entrance.
The news comes as a group of protesters blocked the main road leading to Birmingham Airport before that was cleared at around 9am. Similar protests took place in Nottingham too.
The Facebook event page reads: “5 years ago. 1 day after they killed Mark Duggan. 1 day before the riots. A moment for rage, reflection and rebuilding. A moment for coordinated nationwide action.”
Protests aren’t supposed to make causes likeable, they’re supposed to make them ~visible~. #blacklivesmatterisn’t a request, it’s a demand.
