The EuroMillions jackpot stands at £167m this Friday and could make a single ticket holder the UK’s largest ever winner.
On Tuesday on single player won a staggering £3.6m when they matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
Andy Carter, from the National Lottery said, “We don’t tell you what to do with your win as we are not financial or legal experts, although we do make sure you have access to this advice, but we are experts in winning the National Lottery.
“The team here have met thousands of millionaires and paid out billions of pounds in prizes, so our tips are based on years of experience.”
Carter does advise any winner to “do nothing” before taking advice from legal and financial experts.
He added, “Take your time and maybe think about getting away for a few days. Let it sink in before making any big decisions for how life is going to change.
“Past that, our advice would be to listen to the experts that we can put you in touch with. We can potentially even set up a meeting with another winner over a cuppa, after all if anyone knows what you’re going through it’s going to be another lottery winner.”
