A Houthis militant attack drone was intercepted by Egyptian Air Defence on Wednesday which was flying close to the popular Dahab resort where thousands of Brits go every year.

It is believed the attack drone was supposed to be heading for Israel from Yemen but instead was flying over the Red Sea resort town of Dahab.

The drone was shot down just a few miles from where tourists were sunbathing on beaches, a Egyptian security source told EFE.

The attack drone was shot down in the Sinai Peninsula after reaching “Egyptian airspace,” the source said that this is a “glaring menace to Egyptian national security.”

Egyptian President Abdelfatah al Sisi sent warning, that Egypt “cannot be touched,” after another drone which entered their airspace two weeks ago.

The Iranian back Houthis militant group claimed responsibility for a missile attack on a container ship in the Red Sea on Wednesday.

On Tuesday the United VIII was enroute from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan and MSC Mediterranean Shipping said there was no injuries.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said that they had targeted the container ship after the crew failed to respond to their warnings.

He added that the Houthis had also targeted the Israeli town of Eilat which is by the Red Sea and other locations in Israel.
