The British government have imposed further sanctions on 370 Russian and Belarusian individuals and entities.
The Foreign Office said the new sanctions include Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “key political allies, regime spokespeople and Kremlin-backed disinformation agencies.”
The UK has now sanctioned more than 1,000 Russian and Belarusians since the start of the Ukraine invasion and 51 are oligarchs and family members.
The Foreign Office said the sanctions were made possible due to the new law which has provided MPs with “new powers to act in the public interest and immediately designate individuals and entities under an urgent procedure while evidence is gathered to sanction them under our own standard procedure.”
The government introduced the new Economic Crime Bill which was given Royal Assent on Tuesday which is to tackle “dirty money” in the UK.
