Today’s big deal
The FTSE 100 technology outsourcing group Capita has forked out £57m (US$84m) to acquire the specialist IT firm Trustmarque Solutions.
Trustmarque’s core activities are software resale, licensing, and technology services. Its key specialities include software asset management and strategic cloud consultancy, and it is currently Microsoft’s biggest partner in the UK for public-sector cloud services.
The firm employs 620 people at five offices in London, York, Coventry, Sheffield, and Edinburgh, and it serves over 1,450 public-sector and private-sector clients. In the year to the end of December, it achieved earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (ebitda) of £7.3m on revenues of £191.6m.
Capita chief executive Andy Parker said the acquisition would give his group a set of capabilities and expertise that would complement its existing business and “sit well with our wider technology offering”.
