Night Tube services will begin in July, says Boris

Londoners will be able to use Night Tube services as early as July, London Mayor Boris Johnson confirmed today.

The news comes just days after it was reported that the service would be launched in August.

When asked to confirm the news, Johnson said: “Well, that’s what I’m told by TfL – towards the end of July.”

A Transport for London spokesperson confirmed that they are working towards a “late July” start date for the Night Tube.

The Night Tube was originally due to be launched in September 2015 but was delayed after a dispute between trade unions.

Speaking about the delays, Johnson said: “We’ve had to go a bit slower than I necessarily would have wanted, but on the other hand better to do that … I thought Londoners would rather wait a little bit than we pay an exorbitant demand to get it done.”
