The former House of Commons Speaker John Bercow has had a complaint made against him by a previous senior advisor.
Lord Lisvane who was the Clerk of the House until 2014 submitted the formal complaint on Wednesday to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.
Bercow hit back saying he had “ample” time to raise “any accusations” with me during the five years we worked together.
Bercow said in a statement, “During the five years that we worked together, Lord Lisvane had ample opportunity to raise any accusations of bullying with me.
“At no stage did he do so, even though he became Clerk of the House – the most senior official. The timing of this intervention is curious.”
Bercow has strenuously denied the allegations of bullying.
