What’s going on?

Tower Bridge will shut to traffic for three months starting tomorrow for essential works to be carried out on the 122-year-old bridge.

It will also be closed to pedestrians for a few weeks.

During the closure a signed diversion will be in place taking drivers northbound over London Bridge and southbound over Southwark Bridge.

To help commuters and pedestrians during the closure, Transport for London is running a free ferry service on the weekends that its closed to pedestrians to help people cross the river. Also, drivers will not incur the Congestion Charge on the signed diversion routes and all road works apart from emergency ones will be banned in the area throughout the closure

The pedestrian closures of the bridge will be between 8am – 10pm on the weekends of November 26-27, December 3-4 and December 10-11.
