Suicide attacks rip through Iranian parliament killing 12 and Tehran is in lockdown

Breaking: Tehran suicide attacks

Deadly twin suicide attacks have taken place Wednesday morning in Iran’s capital, Tehran at parliament targeting the shrine of the country’s founder, Ruhollah Khomeini.

An official in Tehran has said that at least 12 have been killed and around 39 injured, four attackers have been shot dead and it is reported there is also a hostage situation however, this is unclear at this stage.

The attackers stormed parliament and this video show the moment a female suicide bomber blows herself up.

Iranian security forces are closing in.

As the terror attack was unfolding people were fleeing from windows:

Tehran is currently on lockdown and Islamic State has claimed responsibility.
