On Thursday the Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow will step down after serving ten years.
The prime minister paid tribute to Bercow on Wednesday and said he had been a great innovator and a great servant of the House of Commons.
SNP’s shadow leader of the House Pete Wishart paid tribute to Bercow and said, “The way we do business in this chamber is now forever changed because of your speakership, you have pioneered, and you have transformed.”
A successor to Bercow will be elected on Monday.
