Holidaymakers face misery as NHS Covid pass app suffers outage leaving passengers missing flights

The NHS Covid pass app has gone down this afternoon meaning travellers will not be allowed to leave the UK.

British holidaymakers will not be able to access the Covid pass app on their smartphones as users are receiving an error message saying that high volumes traffic is “limiting access to the service.”

NHS Digital have acknowledged the issue and said they are investigating and promised an update “as soon as we can.”

Meanwhile whilst passengers who have flights booked will not be allowed to travel and one person has already claimed they had missed their flight due to the app having an outage.

Caroline Frost wrote on Twitter, “Waiting to fly at Heathrow and the NHS app has crashed with all the a COVID vaccination proof available.

“Currently not allowed to fly. Going to be an interesting afternoon at Heathrow.”

Chuck Adolphy, who had been due to fly to Slovenia today wrote, “Cheers guys missed my flight with it.”
