Have the weather conditions affected you this morning?

Fog slowly began to hit the capital in the early hours of the morning and flights have been disrupted at London City Airport.

A weather alert was issued by the Met Office stating that some areas of London and the South East would wake up to “dense fog” with a visibility of below 100 metres.

Restrictions imposed on the City Airport have left passengers facing delays and cancellations.

A spokesman for City Airport told the Standard: “There are some delays and cancellations as a result of the fog.”

“There was a restriction imposed this morning which had an impact on flights, but we are now seeing the weather improving so predict this will be lowered.”

“We realise this in an inconvenience for passengers.”

“We would advise them to check with their airline where they will be able to get a refund or re-book if their flight has been cancelled.”

Londoners have been warned of expected travel disruptions and should allow extra time for their journeys.

Fog is expected to clear by midday and hasn’t affected flights from Heathrow or Gatwick.
