Exclusive video: Smash and grab robbers steal £40k worth of jewellery from Knightsbridge store Watches of Switzerland

Two robbers on a motorbike broke into Watches of Switzerland in Brompton Road and stole jewellery worth £40,000.

London Loves Business has obtained exclusive footage of the smash and grab on Watches of Switzerland in Knightsbridge this morning.

The raid happened at 9.25am, shortly after rush hour on a busy street.

A witness, Lucy, said two robbers approached the store on a motorbike.

“One smashed the display and went inside. I’m not sure if the shop was open,” she said.

In the video, given to London Loves Business, bystanders are seen running away as one man enters the shop and returns with a bag of goods. He waves as he leaves the scene on the back of the motorbike.

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Brompton Road, SW3 shortly before 09:30hrs this morning, Friday 27 November to reports of a smash and grab raid at a Watches of Switzerland store.

“Officers attended but suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

“Two suspects riding one motorcycle had pulled up outside the store and smashed the front door to gain entry. Once inside the store a display cabinet was smashed and a number of watches – valued at an estimated £40,000 – removed. Suspects fled the scene toward Kensington.

“There were no reports of any persons were injured.
