Richest people in the world revealed
Zara billionaire Amancio Ortega has overtaken Microsoft magnate Bill Gates to become the richest person in the world.
Latest figures from Forbes show that shares of Ortega’s business Inditex, parent company to Zara, Massimo Dutti and Pull&Bear,are up boosting his personal fortune by $1.7bn. His wealth stands at $79.5bn compared to Gates’ $78.5bn.
Ortega was briefly the world’s richest man for the first time in October 2015 after Inditex shares hit an all-time high and boosted Ortega’s net worth to $80bn.
