Amazon are giving their staff £50 “attendance bonus” at some locations in the UK if they turn up on time and have a 100% attendance record.

Amazon said this will help with summer and Christmas demand and people who have to take off work work due to Covid or sickness are excluded.

An Amazon spokesperson said, “We are currently offering an attendance bonus at a number of locations to permanent associates to support our summer demand and help us prepare for the festive season ahead.”

The attendance bonus will be paid each week, which will be based on 100% attendance for all scheduled shifts, but this does exclude absences under the Equality Act and relating to Covid.

The company also announced previously that anyone who is employed by Amazon before 18 September will be given a £1,000 signing on fee.
