Stuck for a gift idea for the cigar lover in your life? Sure, we can all splash out on a luxury box of Cohiba Behike BHK 52s, but what if you want something a little more imaginative? Here are just a few of our favourite gifts for cigar aficionados.
Of course, it had to be the ST Dupont Ligne 2 Diamond Head for us. It’s far from cheap – (over a thousand dollars!) but if money is no object then you really can’t find better. It is, without doubt, the best lighter that (a lot) of money can buy.
It’s built using only the very highest quality parts and a assembling process that takes up five years. It’s gorgeous to look at too, with a body made from polished palladium and beautiful detailing. Only the very best cigar deserves to be lit with this gorgeous lighter.
Every self respecting cigar collector knows that how you store your cigars is absolutely crucial. Unless you have the room (and the finances) to have a walk- in home humidor, you might want to invest in one of these beautifully crafted desk versions from Mont Blanc instead. The Sartorial Table Humidor is as classy as it sounds – with a cedar interior and sophisticated leather casing. A work of art.
We’re going right to the other end of the price range for the Mantello deep ceramic cigar ashtray – it’s only around $20. But we just love the simplicity of it. It’s smart, elegant and beautifully minimal. On one level, it is simply a place to put your ash – nothing more, nothing less. But Mantello have also somehow managed to make it a lovely object to behold. Basic but effective – and refreshingly affordable, for those of you who have blown the present budget on the Dupont lighter.
We all need something to read between smokes – and this weighty tome is perfect. The Ultimate Cigar Book does exactly what it says – giving you everything you need to know about the world of cigars and cigar collecting. It is absolutely packed with invaluable advice on buying and smoking cigars, and it is hard to imagine a better book being written on the subject.
The author, Richard Carleton Hacker has even been dubbed ‘The Cigar Czar’, and on this evidence it’s not hard to see why.
