Russia has packed Europe’s largest nuclear power plant with explosives which would turn the continent into a “scorched desert” if it exploded.
Ukraine’s nuclear agency Enerhoatom has warned that Russia are “openly blackmailing the whole world” by threatening to blow up the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant which will turn Europe into a scorched nuclear desert.
Ukraine has said that Russian troops have “wired energy units” of the nuclear plant with explosives and quoted, Major General Valery Vasiliev – the head of Russia’s radiation, chemical and biological defence forces, “there will either be Russian land or a scorched desert.”

He added, “As you know, we have mined all the important facilities of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. And we do not hide it from the enemy. We warned them.
“The enemy knows that the station will be either Russian or no one’s. We are ready for the consequences of this step.
“And you, warriors-liberators, must understand that we have no other way. And if there is the toughest order, we must fulfil it with honour!”
Enerhoatom said in a statement, “Nuclear terrorism in action: the Rashists have declared their readiness to blow up the mined nuclear power plant, the Russians do not hide their plans and are already openly blackmailing the whole world, declaring that they are demining the Zaporizhia NPP and that they are ready to blow it up.”
Major General Valery Vasiliev said in a statement that “there will be either Russian land or a scorched desert.
“As you know, we have mined all the important facilities of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. And we do not hide it from the enemy.
“We warned them.
“The enemy knows that the station will be either Russian or no one’s.
“We are ready for the consequences of this step.
“And you, warriors-liberators, must understand that we have no other way. And if there is the toughest order, we must fulfill it with honor!” – having said wine to his soldiers.
Earlier, Andriy Yusov, a representative of the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, said that the department could confirm the information about the passing of the power units of ZAES by the Russian military.
